Sending It On Ahead
Investing in God’s Kingdom Through Missional Businesses

Why Do We Accumulate Wealth?
As I’ve been reading through the book of Ecclesiastes, one powerful theme stands out: we will all leave this world, and everything we accumulate will be left behind. As the saying goes, “I’ve never seen a hearse pulling a U-Haul.” It forces us to ask the critical question — “For whom and for what are we working so hard to gain wealth?”
From a purely humanistic perspective, Solomon concludes that “it’s all vanity” (Ecclesiastes 1:2). Yet, when we shift to a biblical perspective, the purpose of accumulating wealth becomes clear — it’s to be stewarded for God’s glory and Kingdom purposes. Everything we have is simply on loan from Him, and we are entrusted to use it wisely.
The Common Understanding: Tithing and Offerings
Traditionally, tithes and offerings have been the primary way Christians participate in building God’s Kingdom. We give from our income to our churches, missions, and charitable organizations — and those funds are used to advance the Gospel and bring people into God’s Kingdom.
The result? Eternal rewards. When we give, we essentially send it on ahead, storing up treasures in heaven (Matthew 6:20). Our financial contributions transform into eternal impact as souls are reached and lives are changed.
But what if there was another way to send it on ahead — not just by giving, but by investing in businesses that advance the Gospel?
A New Perspective: Investing with a Kingdom Purpose
Here’s a powerful concept: What if you could invest your wealth in a way that it multiplies financially while simultaneously advancing God’s Kingdom?
Rather than simply giving your money away, you could invest it in profitable, missional businesses that:
- Take the Gospel into places where it’s no longer welcome.
- Provide jobs and economic growth in underprivileged communities.
- Care for God’s creation through sustainable business practices.
- Yield a financial return, allowing you to reinvest in more Kingdom work.
This is more than just donating — it’s becoming a Kingdom investor and partner. You’re investing with an eternal perspective, knowing that both spiritual impact and financial return are possible.
The Advantage: Building a Legacy That Lasts
The most significant difference between traditional giving and missional investing is that you stay engaged in the mission. You’re not simply writing a check — you’re partnering with business leaders who are bringing the Gospel to hard-to-reach places through profitable enterprises.
Another profound advantage is multi-generational impact. These assets don’t just disappear when you’re gone — they can be transferred to your children or heirs, allowing them to continue investing in Kingdom impact long after you’ve gone home to be with the Lord. This means your Kingdom legacy can continue to bear fruit for generations.
Why This Matters Now
There’s an increasing need for missional businesses in parts of the world where traditional missionaries are no longer welcome. Through viable, profitable businesses, believers are able to:
- Establish a physical presence in closed countries.
- Create jobs and uplift local communities.
- Open doors for Gospel conversations and spiritual transformation.
However, the missing link is capital — investment dollars from Kingdom-minded individuals who believe in both eternal impact and financial return.
How You Can Send It On Ahead
If you’ve spent your life building wealth, you now have an opportunity to send it ahead in a different, more impactful way. By investing in missional businesses, you:
- Partner in spreading the Gospel where it’s most needed.
- Support job creation and economic growth in struggling regions.
- Potentially receive financial returns, which can be reinvested for further Kingdom impact.
- Build a legacy that outlives you and continues to advance God’s Kingdom.
This is biblical stewardship at its highest level — investing what God has entrusted to you in a way that produces both eternal and financial returns.
