None of Us Is as Strong as All of Us
The Power of Unity in Business as Mission
Why Unity Matters in the Mission of God
In the ever-growing landscape of Christian mission—including Business as Mission (BAM)—there’s one simple, powerful truth we must not overlook:
None of us is as strong as all of us—together.
From the earliest days of the Church, division has been a challenge. In Acts 6, a conflict arose over food distribution. In Corinth, believers split into factions. Paul responded with this plea:
“Be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
(Ephesians 4:3 NASB)
Unity is not just ideal—it’s essential to fulfilling the Great Commission.
The Blessing of Unity in the Kingdom
Psalm 133 paints a powerful picture:
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity… For there the Lord commands the blessing—life forevermore.”
(Psalm 133:1, 3)
When believers pull together:
- God’s blessings flow more freely
- Our witness becomes stronger
- The mission moves forward with clarity and power
In the BAM community—whether you’re launching a business, discipling employees, or creating jobs for the marginalized—unity multiplies effectiveness.
The Enemy’s Strategy: Division and Distraction
It’s no surprise that Satan targets unity.
Even among those committed to BAM and Kingdom business, we sometimes fall prey to:
- Brand loyalty over Kingdom unity
- Criticism and comparison
- Tribalism and leader worship
- Denominational superiority
These subtle patterns fracture the body and dull our impact. Paul called this out in 1 Corinthians:
“When one says, ‘I follow Paul,’ and another, ‘I follow Apollos,’ are you not mere men?”
(1 Corinthians 3:3–4 NASB)
God’s Blueprint for Oneness
Contrast division with Paul’s vision of true Christian unity:
“There is one body and one Spirit,
just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
one God and Father of all,
who is over all and through all and in all.”
(Ephesians 4:4–6 NASB)
Seven powerful “ones.”
One Church. One God. One mission.
A Call to Reflect and Recommit
This isn’t about pointing fingers. That only breeds more division.
Instead, let’s each ask:
- Have I elevated my label or affiliation above Kingdom unity?
- Do I celebrate others in BAM, even if their approach looks different?
- Am I working with others—or around them?
Let’s repent where necessary, and recommit to the unity of the Spirit. We are one Body, one movement, one mission—sent by the One who gave His life for all.
Unity in BAM: The Key to Lasting Impact
The enemy knows a divided Church is a distracted Church.
But a united Church—especially one active in the marketplace—is unstoppable.
“There the Lord commands the blessing—even life forevermore.”
(Psalm 133:3)
Let’s move forward together—not as competitors, but as co-laborers.Business as Mission isn’t about branding. It’s about obedience, humility, and shared purpose in God’s redemptive plan.
